Manzapan!

Manzapan, or marzipan as it is called in English, is the regional pastry of Toledo. It is made from almonds, sugar, flower, and "the air of the city", as one excessively sappy guidebook mentions. It is certainly tasty, and available everywhere.

Here are three typical pieces: two figuritas (a ham and a pitcher), and one plain, traditional piece. The ham is filled with a little bit of apricot jelly.
